Impressive Server

We stopped at a rest stop on the Ohio Turnpike, Sunday after Thanksgiving and it was a very busy place. My grandson wanted to get an icecream so we stopped at the Hersheys kiosk. The young lady who was working there illustrated something I always try to impress on my grandchildren. "Everything you do and the way you do it is important and makes a difference. "
The server was gracious and very pleasant to the customers. She was taking time to ask a young child just how she wanted her ice cream all the while dishing out the first order. She put just the right amount of ice cream in the dish so it didn't slop over the side. She was careful to hand the little girl her spoon and be sure that she had the icecream dish securely in her hand.
We have been in places that pretty much shoved the ice cream into a small child's hand just to have it fall all over the front of their shirt !  Then to charge for a replacement. We all know the results of that kind of "service". I never did return to that shop ever again.
This young lady is a true asset to her employers and everyone left with a smile on their face.  She was ready for the next customer and was just as engaging, patient, yet efficient, with them also.
I would hire that type of person immediately as they are becoming a rare breed.  I hope she finds the job of her dreams and I am sure she will be a leader wherever she goes. Thank you Shaniah! You made my day!
